Saxon Weald
Location: Horsham
Activity: Association & Charities
Our project partner, Office Principles, transformed Saxon Weald House with a complete workplace redesign, delivering a sustainable and agile workspace that revolutionizes how the housing association’s team collaborates and serves its community.
Saxon Weald is a housing association managing nearly 7,000 rented and shared ownership homes across Sussex and Hampshire. As a charitable Community Benefit Society, they reinvest rental income into home management, maintenance, and construction.
This comprehensive renovation transformed an outdated office space that had been unchanged for over 20 years. The new design prioritizes user experience and flexible working, featuring purpose-built areas for both collaborative and focused work, including a new meeting forum, training spaces, and a central café-style eating area to promote social gathering.
Sustainability stands at the heart of the project, earning a SKA gold rating through features like biophilia, a striking living wall, and energy monitoring displays. The exterior renovation includes a new glazed canopy, sustainable wooden frontage, photovoltaic roof panels, and EV charging points. The workspace prioritizes inclusivity with a layout informed by neurodiversity needs, featuring fully accessible break out areas and tea points, complemented by a new lift serving all three floors.
SB Workspace supplied key furniture pieces including meeting room tables, soft seating, ergonomic workstations, collaborative furniture solutions, breakout areas, and bespoke items designed to support the agile working environment.
